A Message from the Author

Welcome! You're about to try out an HTML editor that gives you (as far as I know) an unprecedented degree of flexibility and control. Unlike most HTML editors, which have the tags encoded in the program itself, JusTags uses a tag database which you can edit at any time to reflect changes in HTML markup or your own personal preferences.

JusTags also uses the keyboard for maximum efficiency. While most HTML editors I've seen are primarily menu-operated, JusTags recognizes that since HTML is basically just text, and you need a lot of it to make a good Web page, the key to productivity is, well, keys (lame pun intended). Although there is a menu, and there are a few dialog boxes, everything that can be done with JusTags can be done with the keyboard.

I'd like to express my gratitude to the following people: Pat Dobbin, for being the very first to try out my creation; Lisa Jenkins and Lucien Greif for a lot of good, constructive criticism; and Kevin Werbach, for his Bare Bones Guide to HTML (my primary reference for the tag specifications). Any errors or quirks in JusTags or in these documents are entirely my responsibility.

So, have at it! Good luck, and if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me.
